If you really tried you could’ve made this video pretty good

I mean, i agree that i dont want ai to be entirely writing and making movies... but I'm not sure I agree with the idea that the film would be worth more if you struggled and found it tedious to make. i just dont generally like the belief that 'things are better because they were hard' because i reject the idea that suffering enhances your life, whether that be art or anything else

I love how much you love Ponyo, it came out when I was an adult so I didn’t enjoy as much in that way but I do think it’s like one of the most beautifully made childrens movie and have shown it to my daughter and she likes it too. Princess Mononoke was my first Ghibli/Miyazaki film and it moved me so much, I was 9, it kind of made me who I am today if that makes sense, like everything from the characters to the music inspired me a little bit with my thinking my choices etc. maybe a bit dramatic but that’s how much that film means to me and why it’s always going to be #1 for me.

I actually have never met someone who has seen or likes Proco rosso honestly and so I am happy seeing the comments people defending it, it’s an awesome movie! It’s not a #1 for me personally but definitely maybe #3 or #4 favorite of Miyazaki’s!

I remember watching the poppy hill one and I went into it with no knowledge of what the movie was about at all and when I realized the whole incest thing happening I immediately disliked the movie, not going to lie, it’s just not something I care for in any context, it’s just a weird thing period 🥴🤷🏽‍♀️

Agree with everything except for your analysis of Mike Faist's performance. To me it sounds like you are biased since he came from the stage. Saying that you thought he was going to burst into song is just wrong. That's not remotely how I felt about his performance. Most of the film he was actually quite quiet and reserved. He only burst out a few times when his emotions boiled over, and those were screams that anyone could relate to. I thought his performance was fantastic and full of nuance. So yeah, give the guy a break. It just sounds like you don't like theater.

Joke's on you because i zoomed the video to fit my 16:9 display! Xd I guess aside from artistic choices, display ratios is more about how much you want to expose vs how much our eyes can focus on. Like... why 4:3 again and not 1:1? Or 3:2? Why widescreens chose 16:9 when its almost but not yet 2:1 (16:8)?

i think its pretty decent for a modern movie...i could have predicted some stuff sure but it was done in a way where i wanted to watch what happened,the acting was decent and the cinematography was solid

Wow, it takes some audacity to talk about the the most ridiculous sex scenes done by Ridley Scott and not mention Cameron Diaz humping a car in The Counselor.

You know what, I think I will go buy a ticket for the Fall Guy. It looks fun. I might be able to convince my wife to go to it. This message sounds like Ryan Gosling's agent wrote it but he did not.

These AI models are very accessible right now, but you mark my words, when they've got 90% to where they think the product should be, they will slam the doors in our faces. That door being a big paywall, or some freemium EULA that involves letting the model train on everything you do and create on your computer. This is the tech way - start with a loss leader, get people hooked, spout nonsense about "elevating everyday people and emboldening them to create" and then monetize the crap out of it. The energy these models use isn't cheap, and it's growing in proportion to the fidelity of the output.

Notice that the Shaky cam reduces as movie progresses, it portrayes Dev's character's control and focus improving as his character developes, by the end, there is no shaky cam showing that he has achieved "the state"

The Wind Rises is has a deeper meaning that I feel people miss. It is a fictionalized biographical film of Jiro Horikoshi. Horikoshi developed the Mitsubishi A6M "Zero", one of the most deadly aircrafts in WW2. This film is very close to the movie Oppenheimer. A RUclipsr did a nice comparison of The Wind Rises and Oppenheimer. Two people that followed their passion and developed some of the most deadly weapons in WW2.

A cat returns is a movie I watched when I was in a bad place mentally and the cosiness and message of being true to yourself really hit me emotionally (plus I love cats SO much) therefore it became my favourite ghibli movie but damn they have good movies

"Art" AI is perfect for people who do not want to get involved (body and soul) with the creative process. The most creativity I see in these people is how they reformulate the prompts so that something comes out that fits what they want to see. Nothing else. It's a bit sad, like "crypto art" which were drawings (with a horrible design) made in series. What catches my attention is that I see more and more people obsessed with the final result and the quantity, instead of paying attention to the process and enjoying it. I think that AI art is going to saturate the internet, and what is made by a human being and a machine will no longer be distinguishable. People consuming AI content will be absorbed in a permanent simulation. I only see this as a positive for someone who wants to exploit the algorithm and put up as much content "possible" without making any effort and earn free money, basically. Everything will become an endless grind for a zombie generation
